Artist's Bio
Nicholas resides in Campbell River on Vancouver Island. From early in his youth he has possessed a strong devotion to traditional art practices. After graduating High school it was an easy decision for him to nurture his creativity in art school. He now has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University.
Some of the stylistic influences of his art have been Gothic, renaissance, and baroque art. Many of his works are exercises in portraiture that explore personal symbolism’s and extravagant fashions. It is widely regarded that the majority of these pieces are self-portraits but the artist often denies this is the case. His other works usually explore fantasy, nature, history, and still life that are almost always rendered in his style.
“Style is very important in my work and I am constantly tweaking and fine tuning my skills in executing it. It is an ever evolving feature that I am obsessed with using to express my creativity in whatever subject I am rendering”
